This is just a test to make some appealing counters. In the process I used multiple layers and filters. I would say, that after getting used to the slighty different way to handle things, the GIMP is a really powerful alternative to other, way more expensive graphic-programms on the market.
The support community is just fantastic. There are thousands of tutorials in all kinds of languages. Millions of brushes round it up.

Thats whats so great about Linux, everything is open source, and freely available to the public. Open source is opening so many new doors of innovations! I think we are getting real close to getting ubuntu as a very solid OS for anyone to use.

I wonder how Gimp compares to photoshop. I don't know since I have never used Gimp.
Open source for me too. However since cracked versions are freelyy available people are not yet willing to migrate over

I've used GIMP and it takes a bit of getting used to but there is no denying that it is a powerful graphics application.
Linux being an open source provides many benefits and opportunities for the user. GIMP is really a useful program.
There is no doubt that more and more people are trying linux and attracted towards it because of simplicity and security.

I just believe in one thing and i.e., open source is always better and deliver the quality.

gimp isn't a bad software to use. I use it often,and it's been great every since, thanks for sharing this with people.
i've used gimp, photoshop, and paint.net, and i'm still a photoshop fan. pretty rare that i prefer a paid software over open source.
ok maybe it's not same proffesional as photoshop is but i know a lot of people that use and do some awesome things with it
